What is 10-oh-HHC?

10-oh-HHC is a brand-new cannabinoid. Also known as 10-hydroxy-hydrocannabinol, it was discovered in the 1980s and isolated fairly recently, in 2015. It's a rather surprising molecule, which becomes what it is after metabolizing its initial form, by the liver. In other words, you could almost say that it's the body which, through a few complex chemical processes, produces it on its own.

To obtain 10-oh-HHC, scientists processed CBD and THC to obtain HHC (hydrocannabinol). Hydroxyl groups were then added. This is a complex process, which can only be carried out in competent laboratories with solid expertise in hemp, cannabis and chemical manipulation.

The effects of 10-oh-HHC

Like other cannabinoids, 10-oh-HHC is a molecule with a multifaceted action. As such, its consumption could offer serious benefits, notably in the fight against acute or chronic pain and inflammation associated with certain neurodegenerative diseases.

More concretely, 10-oh-HHC would have an action :

Is 10-oh-HHC legal in France?

10-oh-HHC, like CBD before it and other neo-cannabinoids (since banned), currently finds itself in a grey area. In fact, it's a recent cannabinoid, arriving on the market after the authorities took a stand on H4CBD, THCP, THCV and all the other neo-cannabinoids that have been put on the market.

Non-regulated, it is therefore not banned. However, 10-OH-HHC is said to have certain psychoactive effects, similar to THC, for example, which could soon make it a product subject to restrictions, even though the quantities of tetrahydrocannabinol contained in products sold wholesale are below 0.3% (the legal threshold imposed by French legislation).
